1. A: Celebrities should be greatful for their fans, taking advantage of them and their money. B: Beyonce started late at a festival, many people would expect to start on time. C: The writer uses lists to express emotion by listing the various disrespectful things artists have done recently. 2. A: Expected to perform to standard, cut short as he didn’t want to play. B: The writes uses a sarcastic tone to create the effect of Plan B not being able to complete what very little he was paid to do. 3. Artist expects whatever he wants, complains about why they didn’t do something he didn’t ask them to. 4. “the artist is holding all the cards” this suggests that even though people have paid, the performer is the one in control of the event so can exploit the people. This is effective as it refers to the writer’s general tone throughout the passage. 5. “heroes” has connotations of a noble and good person standing up for what’s right. The writer uses this to convey a sense of every music artist’s self-importance and ego being far too big for entertainers. 6. The writer feels like musicians have been allowed to put themselves on a podium above everyone else. They don’t care about their fans, preferring to play for their wallets. Musicians have too much power for being the entertainment and they exploit it. They expect to be adored but ignore their adoring fans.
