Hi,
Higher 2016 She includes the example of Malala as if she was a UK resident she would be too young to vote. She is incredibly mature and intelligent despite being only 17. It highlights the UK policy is flawed as we would be missing valuable assets.
“Tantrums” has connotations of losing control and an uncontrolled outburst, over reacting and childlike so this is effective as it suggests that adults lack the maturity and depth to make important decisions and are not that different from teenagers.
“Scarcely” connotes barely, limited difference and just enough which suggests the adults share a lot of the same traits as the teens and are not significantly better than them.
The first list shows all of the productive qualities associated with teens, “insert list”. This shows they would make valuable inclusions to politics whilst the second (insert list) mentions the negative and critical qualities of the adults. This enables the reader to highlight the stark contrast between the two groups and that the teens are significantly better equipped to vote despite being the group that are currently being excluded.
Key Ideas • Due to a wide range of sources online they have been able to access lots of information to keep them informed. • They have strong understanding so will not be easily taken in by what they read or hear online. • They have grown up with IT and access to technology so are skilled in it.
Hope this helps.
