Many pupils in fourth year want lockers but are told there is not enough. What do you think? Contact me.

i don't think there should be more lockers as there would probably be enough if they weren't vandalised. plus the 5th and 6th years need the lockers more as every subject requires a folder which is normally lever arch whereas 3rd and 4th years tend to have jotters which they can normally leave in the classroom.

Lockers?
Who needs a locker when you can carry a bag? Those who can't carry a bag deserve and should get a locker.
In my day, we didn't have or want lockers. Lockers are for the lazy child who does no homework.

Right, double quote coming up! i don't think there should be more lockers as there would probably be enough if they weren't vandalised.... To be honest I am amazed that so few are vandalized I have only seen one that has had its door broken so I feel that we do need more. I am a member of the pupil council *sigh* and we were talking about this in the last meeting. We need somewhere where we can screw them to the wall to stop them toppling on people! Got any ideas anyone? We feel down by the old main entrance in that kind of empty sqaure place. Quote two! Lockers? Who needs a locker when you can carry a bag? Those who can't carry a bag deserve and should get a locker. T I can understand this arguement if you need only carry a few books but when subjects ask that you carry whole folders and textbooks then it becomes a struggle, not only in size, but in weight. They say we should not carry more than 30% of our bodyweight yet we seem to most days. Espicailly on days where we may have PE and have no where to leave our extra bag(s). I therefore believe that there should be more lockers but can see why other people have their views like they do. Kit

Ha ha to Mr. T's defiant answer there
Well argued points in favour lads...but...How would you stop every year asking for a locker? And, if you would consider this a right for all pupils, where would you house them? Consider the health and safety of the concourse area...

Personally I agree with Kendall, if you make more for another year then everyone else will want them. The sixth got them first because we have so much stuff and deserve it for having done six years. If anyone else wants them they just have to be quick. I have a brother in third year and I can quite confidently say most of the problem is people bring more stuff than they need. My bags and stuff were fine in fourth year and stuff. Fifth year brougth folders which brought a need for lockers.
And they could not go down in the old main enterance, have you seen the people who hang around there? I had to prefect there and they are all really quite rude and the type who would vandalise. Plus think of the trek to get there, the concourse is pretty central.

A locker would be handy I think to be honest seeing as for the four years I've been here I have been through 12 bags as they always burst maybei'm just unlucky ... lol:)

I had a locker in High School. As was the case in the States.
I often found I'd forgotten required reading / HW as I'd stuffed it in the locker.
Wouldn't recommend owning one.
