The dark knight essay
Paragraph:introduction
- Director Christopher Nolan's 2008 batman TrilogyThe dark Knight follow's batman (Bruce Wayne) played by Christian Bale as his journey continues to fight crime in Gotham, but this time to fight against organised killer the joker played by Heath Ledger hired by the mafia to kill batman but the joker is unpredictable and can't be reasoned with and chaotic and kills many people in Gotham while Harvey Dent played by Aaron Eckhart (the white knight) tries to save Gotham
With out violence and put all
People cause crime into jail and showing that Harvey is the that Gotham needs.
But a lot of people were concerned about the certificate that it was given for the film (12a) while others believed it was a fair rating for example the joker uses knifes mainly threw the whole film, during 2008 their were teenagers being attacked with knife's also the Batman is mainly Seen to be a likeable character but there is one scene where he tortures people drops them from buildings to break their ankles and by also breaking the law by tapping phones near the end basically this film should be a 15 .The central board of film certification ( often referred to as the censor board) is a statutory censorship and classification body under the Ministry of information and broadcasting.
I will be talking about the certificates like arguments of souls it be an 12a or 15,also the characters of hero and the villain!
Paragraph 2
-firstly why it should deserves a 12a certificate .before batman was in any movies,he was mainly famous for being a comic book hero who would save the day his Batmobile and got his own cartoonTV show on Cartoon Network and Boomerang plus one of most popular Halloween costumes since 2009 has been the joker.plus batman and the joker aren't real people this Will not effect young children's minds they're not stupid they know what's real and what's not real in the world, the BBFC said the film's 12a certificate was justified because of the film's a superhero context
Paragraph 3
- Now going look to at why the film should've been a 15 certificate.the threat in this film is most frequently seen the joker wields his preferred weapon a knife in one scene,he plays with inside his mouth.in another scene he talks to Harvey dent and tells him to shoot him in the head but Harvey doesn't later in that scene the joker blows up a hospital.but before all that The joker is interrogated by Batman While getting punched slapped and thrown to the ground by him then the jokers mainly says that Harvey Dent and Rachel played by Maggie of Bruce Wayne's best and oldest friend also his lover is tied to a chair surrounded by oil drums ready to blow but they are in separate locations.the joker tells batman that Rachel is in the location that he wants but the joker lied, when batman got to the location Harvey was their instead of Rachel so at the end of the scene Rachel blows up with the building in flames and bye the time the building that Harvey was in when it blew up Harvey fell into some of the fire 50 percent of him was burt then later on Harvey becomes a villain and revenge takes over him this shows that even the good can be defeated.
All of this shows that this film is not designed for a child these actions that have happened in the scenes Will probably scare them or encourage them to do what happens in the scenes. Violence, threat, nudity, language and imitable behaviour was threw this film is well.
Paragraph 4
-In conclusion the dark Knight has multiple reasons why it should be a 12 or 15 but mainly it to be 15. At the end of the film it finishes on a depressing note with batman on the run even know he saved Gotham he was pushed for doing the right thing also Heath Ledger (the joker) passed away from accidental drug over does and unable to sleep this happened before the film came out. The language was quite strong also threw the it shows breaking the law in some scenes also the joker main weapon is a knife and he uses it a lot during the film and threatens people with it. For these reasons it should be a 15.
