The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole by Sue Townsend
I have read the first book "The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13 3/4" and I thought that was great so I decided to read the second book to see if it was just as great. I have not read all of the book but so far I think it carries on from where the last book left off. The book is a similar style as it is still written in a dairy format where I find it more enjoyable to read. I like "The Growing Pains of Adrian mole" as it is just funny and as ludicrous as any 14 year old life is. As Adrian over reacts to trivial things like spots and whither a girl likes him or not. Although the book was written 30 odd years ago it still relates to our day and age however he doesn’t have problems with his phones and IPads. Overall I think that “The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole” is a great book to read if you around 12, 13, 14 years old and if you enjoy humorous books. I am looking forward to continuing reading the rest of “The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole” and other Adrian Mole Books in the series.

kaleidoscope (the illustrated man) by Ray BradburryThis book in its self is mesmerizing yet i feel kaleidoscope stuck out to me as a moving short story with a thought provoking end as it made me stop and think , what really goes through your mind as your life draws to a close and suddenly life its self stops , this story captures the way in which Hollis lets out all of his anger that has built up inside him as death becomes closer , as Hollis fades though space to his sure death he realises that his life had really ended a couple of years prior. As Hollis fights with his "friends" who are also at the time speeding thigh space to there eventual deaths he realises its not worth fighting and in the end we should be proud of our life's instead of regretting things that you cannot rectify, as his friends lose contact with Hollis he decides he wants to make someone , somewhere happy as he believes he will then of served a purpose but as there was one around in the giant black box that is space his dying wish is for someone to see him falling through the sky and smile , the last tear provoking line is when a little boy looks up to the sky and see Hollis and thinks hes a shooting star and makes a wish , all in all this is one of the best short story's i have personally ever read and i would recommend it to anyone who likes a really good read and want to provoke some emotion and thought in themselves. Maze RunnerFirst the Hunger Games,Then Divergent and now the Maze Runner,a novel. The Maze Runner is the first book in a trilogy written by an American author called James Danshner. The book was first published in 2009.The maze runner kicks off directly in the middle of the trial and as the title says,a seemingly unsolvable maze must be solved. The main character in this novel is a 16 year old boy called Thomas, his memory has been wiped out. This maze is gigantic and 50 other boys who are caught in it live in a farm in the middle of the Maze called the Glade.Everday a small number of boys, the runners leave the Glade and head out into the unknown to find a way out Thomas wants to become one of them. The story is a very action-packed and reading the book feels very much like watching a movie, the Maze Runner seems like a mystery book in my opinion the novel is more suitable for younger readers from 11-16.I think overall the Maze Runner is definitely a good book. Awaken by Katie Kacvinsky Awaken, the first in the trilogy of books by Katie Kacvinsky, is set in a dystopian world where everything is digital, from going to the cinema to going school, everything is done online. Maddie Freeman, a 17 year old whose father is the creator of digital schooling, grew up with the fact that talking face to face was a danger after the shootings which happened when she was young, and everything should be done through the internet and she always agreed. However this changes when Maddie meets Justin, a 20 year old digital school dropout, whose parents tried to bring down digital school, and bring back face to face schooling 2 years ago, with the help of Maddie breaking into her dad's files when she was 15. Throughout the story Justin helps Maddie see that being able to talk to people face to face is what the world needs, but there are many hurdles in Maddie’s way before she can be free to have her own opinion: one being her dad and one being Maddie’s main fear- detention centres. Her Psychotic Patient
I have chosen to read a short story called 'Her Psychotic Patient' by Samantha (last name not given). I would recommend this for ages 13-15 as it is a little gruesome. The story is about a metal patient called Miranda who's husband was murdered. She had recently moved back home and was visited by her carer Serena. Miranda suddenly turned on Serena and blamed her for the death of her husband. I really enjoyed this short story as it was intriguing, grabbed my attention and had a surprising twist at the end.

Misery
Misery is a iconic horror book by the best horror writer ever. Stephen king writes the book with suspence on every page. It leaves you excited and nervouse for the next time you pick it up. The novel follows a writer named Paul sheldon who gets caught in a storm on his way home and crashed his car in a remote area. But remote as it may seem there is someone who was very happy to find him. She is called Annie Wilkes. She takes Paul to her home but doesn't call an ambulance. She wants to take care of him herself. After all, she is his " number one fan. " She soon finds Paul's finished novel of his misery series and she is not happy with the way things ended in that last book. She is not happy at all. Paul is definetly not leaving for a long time. I recommend this book as I felt it was a real page turner. It was always on my mind when I put it down as I tried to imagine what would happen to Paul. But every time I read on I would be corrected. I never knew what was round the corner. Because of that I would give it a 10 out of 10 and recommend it to anyone who likes good horror book

WONDER ' wonder ' by R.J.Palacio tells the story of the extraordinary 10 year old boy August Pullman. Who was born 'different' from the others with a face that horrifies most who look upon it. If it isn't enough dealing with endless problems August is faced with the hardest one of all attending the house of horrors fifth grade in an actual school with real life people. August struggles to fit in at school and is constantly pushed out of his comfort zone with some difficult challenges along the way will this be the make or break point for August or will he crumble under the pressure?

Cherub Man vs Beast by Robert Muchamore
I have read "Cherub Man vs Beast" it is the 6th book in the Cherub book series. Its about a boy called James Adams and his sister Lauren Adams. They both joined a company called CHERUB. CHERUB is a British Security Service that employ children under the age of 17 because people don't expect children to be working as an under cover agent. In this book "man vs beast" James and his sister Lauren and there friend Kyle go to infiltrate an animal rights organisation. James and Kyle become close friends with people for another group and this causes James and Kyle to become at great risk. Overall his book is very addicting and will make you want to keep reading. "Man vs Beast" is a great book and I recommend for people to read tis book and the rest of the CHERUB series.

The Unborn
I have read a short story called ‘The unborn’ by Alina. I would recommend this to people aged 13/14 years old. The story is about Dalia woods and the rumours that come with it, Dalia woods is located in a small town called Dantaylia. These rumours lead to the mysterious disappearance of the townspeople. It’s a great story to read if you like crime and mystery’s. I am looking forward to reading more stories like this one. It was good because it had a really good climax it was unexpected and dramatic. I would rate this story 4 stars because I found it interesting.

This song will save your life by Leila Sales
'This song will save your life' is a novel that deals with the heartbreak of being lonely and bullied teenage girl at her new school. When Elise Dembowski try's her best she always fails so she almost gives up. One night she went to a warehouse party, there Elise was a completely different person, making real friends, falling in love for the first time and finding her true passion. Elise's true passion is music as she loved making new tunes for everyone to enjoy and have a good time. I would recommend 'This song will save your life' to teenagers from 14-15 years old as it has some strong language in it so its not suitable for under 10 years. If you like romantic and friendship books I think you will enjoy this, well I really enjoyed this book because it was very well written.

Cherub series: Maximum security By Robert Muchamore
Cherub series is a series of 15 different books, I have read most of the books and I have just started to read another one of the series called the killing, Robert also has different books called the Henderson boys I'm enjoying the books right now so I will start reading that's series after I've finished the books. Maximum security is about how cherub have locked plenty of criminals behind bars but they have to try break one of them out, The young agent James Adams has to go on a under cover mission into Arizona Max and try and break out one of the inmates. I would say that this book Is a good/enjoying book to read if your around the age of 13+ cause there is a lot of drama and crime in it which can sometimes get exiting to read. Overall I think that the whole series is a good choice of books to read if you are into things like drama and crime.
