A memory dream…
A young boy, no more than 6, gives a warm smile just after handing over a necklace to LEESA THAW which matches his necklace. He points to his necklace while holding out hers
(Behind them we see a moving truck and boxes to let the audience know that he is moving away.)
AARON LOOP: ‘This will show our promise! Our l…..’
A beeping noise starts to fade out his words he continues talking but no voice heard through the beeps he smiles again and the sunshine fades his face out from the dream to reality where we see the beeps come from an alarm clock showing the date ‘Mon 7 May’ and the time ‘7:00 am’
LEESA THAW wakes up suddenly a close up of her teary face and puzzled expression of her alarm going off. She sits on the side of her bed looking at the necklace in her dream. She walks over to her desk where the necklace is and picks it up. She suddenly becomes teary missing her friend who gave her the necklace unable to remember him fully.
LEESA THAW voice over while getting ready for school:
VO: Another dream about him again and by him I mean a great friend from 10 years ago and by great I mean the first boy I ever liked. I always have this reoccurring dream on my birthday. I like when I have this dream about him the only worst part is waking up to reality. Even though I don’t remember him fully or even his name I still miss him. He was my only friend back then I didn’t like to socialise but he made me his friend even though I said nothing. He was the only one who stood up for me when I got bullied and stayed with me through nursery even though everyone else thought I was a freak. We were best friends. I don’t remember much but I know that he suddenly had to leave due to his parents having issues with each other he gave me a necklace to never forget him I think and I never will. Even though I’m still not great with socialising and get bullied remembering him makes them all useless.
*Knock on the door*
MOTHER: ‘LEESA are you ready? I can take you to school if you want’
LEESA: ‘I’ll be a little late you can go on thanks ’
MOTHER: ‘Okay Happy Birthday have a great day!’
LEESA: ‘Thank you’
*Car starts outside*
LEESA looks out her window and waves to her mum just before she drives away to work. She picks up a photo of her and AARON LOOP (close up of photo)
LEESA THAW: ‘Happy Birthday to us!’
She’s ready for school and she walks out her room and down the stairs breakfast is already set for her with a little note saying ‘Happy Birthday’ she eats it quickly trying not to be late for school. She walks out the house and there’s a medium shot of her walking to school listening to her phone. A beautiful scene in the background.
