Hi everyone,
I hope that the exams are going well. I've managed to catch a few of you over the last couple of weeks but thought I'd post an update about Edinburgh University's Model United Nations Society coming to talk to Debate Club one afternoon. Having now spoken to Marco, one of the key members of the society, we have arranged for four members of the society to come to school on the afternoon of Wednesday May 28th. They are firstly going to deliver a presentation to you all about what they do in their society and the MUN's they have participated in, then you guys are going to get involved in a mock committee meeting that they're organising.
I'm aware that that's the last week of Study Leave for S5/6 but it would be fantastic if as many of you could attend as possible - including S6 members who are leaving! If someone could post this information on the Debate Club Facebook page too then that would be great.
Everyone who is interested in coming along, pop in to see me at some point this week or post a reply to this message to confirm your attendance.
Ms Mound

Oops! Forgot to add that the time will be after school, from 3.40pm for about an hour and a half. Venue still to be confirmed but most likely in EN1.
Following this exciting visit, Debate Club will start up again on a weekly basis right up until the start of the Summer holidays. Suggestions for Debate topics always welcome!
