Hi everyone,
I hope that your research and Position Papers are coming along well. Remember that you have until next Friday to e-mail these to the chair of your committee. Let me know if you are having any problems and post your 50-word summaries here when you have completed them.

Female Genital Mutilation We, the nation of France, have made female genital mutilation illegal. We first made female genital mutilation illegal after a case in 1982 where a young girl bled to death. Since then we have have been the largest prosecutor of female genital mutilation in Europe with more than 40 female genital mutilation cases.
Polygamy We, the nation of France, have made polygamous marriages illegal. Polygamous marriages have been illegal since 1993. However, we believe that people should be allowed to remain in polygamous relationships, as many Muslims and people from North Africa have polygamous relationships, and we have many people living with multiple spouses.
Is that ok? - Neil
