Hi folks,
I am giving you an electronic copy of all the key dates for your folio redrafts. This will be given as a paper copy to your parent or guardian on Wednesday at parents' evening so there is no escape! Remember that you are all redrafting each piece to ensure that I can select the very best pieces to send to the SQA.
Welcome to 'Folio Fridays' (you know that you will be on board with this name soon!) ;D
Friday 18th January: Romeo and Juliet critical essay due
Friday 25th January: Creative or Personal writing piece due
Friday 1st February: Persuasive essay due
Friday 8th February: Visiting Hour critical essay AND The Importance of Being Earnest essay due
(February holidays)
and then a bizarre 'Folio Tuesday':
Tuesday 19th February: A Farewell to Arms critical essay due
We will also have an essay on The Jaguar by then that some of you could use too.
Pieces should follow the format guidelines we discussed in class (see below) and have to be printed out before the deadline - no memory sticks or message board submissions will be accepted.
Format Guidelines:
Size 12 font 1.5 line or double line spacing Times New Roman font No name on piece No title on piece
It is fundamental that you meet every single deadline as it is the ONLY way to ensure I can proofread your pieces and select the best. The folio is worth a third of your overall grade so please take it seriously.

What do you mean by 1.5 line or double line spacing? I don't think I was back when you spoke about that.

Ok Thomas and everyone who sent me a private message about this! So go to 'Format' in Word and then select 'Paragraph'. Then there is a section in that screen called 'Spacing' and you are changing the 'Line spacing' to either 1.5 (if your piece is long) or 2 line spacing.
I hope this is easy to follow!

Hi guys,
Your persuasive essay final draft (unless you've switched pieces around - all these people have spoken to me already) is due on Friday.
I would write the title of the piece IN PENCIL on the essay to keep you right when we are tagging.

Hey folks,
I hope you've enjoyed a lovely break.
Just to say that as you have some important work to do on Tuesday, it will not be possible to collect in your AFTA final drafts. Therefore keep hold of them until Friday 22nd February (yay to having a last Folio Friday!).
If you have already done it, well done you can relax.
If you have not done it, you have until Friday now. Lucky things.
If you see this, do please let the others know it exists!
