Edinburgh is seen as a city that boasts many cultural delights and is rich in history. Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and is situated in the South East region. The city revolves around historical monuments and exquisite scenery. Throughout the year, Edinburgh offers numerous events to keep you en-thrilled, such as the biggest event of the year, the Fringe Festival. This city has much to offer, such as the beautiful Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace and the magnificent Arthur's Seat.
Edinburgh revolves on historical interest, and gives a lot of insight to its historical value. Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace and Historic Walks are the most visited attractions in this city, as they do not only give a clear insight of what Edinburgh had been like thousands of years ago, but are also an outstanding experience. Edinburgh Castle is set on an extremely high hill top towering over Princes Street. It is one of the seventy-eight biggest historical attractions in Scotland which now hold several of the Queen of England's Royal Jewels. Arthur's Seat is a hill of magnitude which has the most impressive bold design layout in Edinburgh, it is the most popular for hill walking as it is relatively serene and is particularly outstanding for picnics and walks. Botanic Gardens are areas of land that display many unusual plants that are from all over the world. Some of which are from tropical areas and have to be kept safe in a green house at the right temperature or in a shade house. The Botanic Gardens hold tours, educational displays and much more. The gardens are best known as a world re-owned centre for plant science and education.
During the day you can enjoy the peaceful outdoor but in the evening entertainment can be enjoyed by all visitors. Entertainment takes a big part in Edinburgh cultural events such as the King's Theatre, Cinema and Bowling. The King's Theater offers a great choice of plays and dramas as well as being the home of Scotland's best Pantomime venue. King's Theatre is situated on the start of Leven Street. There are various pantomimes that take place each year and offer a variety that anyone can take part in. Also the biggest entertainment and offers a great deal of exciting activities to do is Fountain Park which offers you the Cinema, Tenpin Bowling, Children's play and much more. It's a great idea if you just want to have a relaxing evening with your family and to have some fun.
Every year Edinburgh had a big festival called the Fringe, which tourists from all over the world come and see as it is international. It takes place in August each year and has a variety of acts that can be seen while walking down the Royal Mile. Many celebrities such as Russell Brand first became a star during this festival. While walking down the Royal Mile you will see ordinary people doing music/dance acts for the fun and enjoyment of others. Also in Edinburgh Castle for the Fringe Festival, they have a Military Tattoo, which involved people who work in the authorities, a soldier in the Army and young children who are extremely talented. Later on through the night at the end of the festival, the society sets up a firework display which is also showed on the television screen. The Fringe is the most important event in Edinburgh as all the actors/singers/dancers and soldiers all they want to do is bring joy to others.
